Haryana Environmental Management Society

HEMS new is a voluntary and non-profit organization constituted as Society vide Registration No. 2864 Dated 22.01.2002. It is a representative organisation for industries in Haryana. The institution is a duly recognized and registered body and is governed and guided by the strong principles of sustainable industrial development. HEMS aims to promote sound environment management in the State and NCR by strengthening-in-house capabilities in all industrial sectors. HEMS intends to emerge as a one-stop solution to all environmental issues faced by industrial units in the State and NCR. Recognising the problem of hazardous waste handling and disposal, HEMS has decided to provide specific thrust to address the environmental problems arising due to improper handling of hazardous waste. In this regard, HEMS is facilitating Common Hazardous Waste Treatment, Storage and Disposal Facility (TSDF) in Pali, District Faridabad, Haryana to aid its members with effective-management of industrial waste. This is an infrastructure project executed as public-private partnership. As a responsible member of industrial fraternity, HEMS seeks active support and involvement of all industries and their representatives, so as to manage the viable operation of the TSDF and uplift the environmental performance of each and every industrial unit in Haryana .

"Many people hear 'environmental management' and immediately think two things: bureaucracy and expense. But the effort on environmental protection for us is yielded opportunities of real world, long-term cost savings in areas like reduced power and water use in every type of industries. Perhaps even more significant is the possible positive impact in the face value to obtain better image. A section of our members had created a workplace that was less likely to generate injuries or serious environmental accidents. Less risk means greater opportunity for return on an investment. We're told the potential impact of our initiative, taken with other factors, is a point for improvement. Now, that's the kind of savings that makes industrial leaders and the public both very happy."

We will be happy to listen from you!
